Back in Business

I just took my shop off of vacation mode!!

Wow, what a transition!! The traveling went great! Only had a few minor vehicle issues on the way, ran into a bit of bad icy weather, but here I am, all safe and warm and practically settled in. The horses did great during this dramatic change... I was a bit concerned, but they have adjusted with no issues!! YIPEE!!

Our horses went from this....

To this......

And we all went from shorts to snow pants :)
It really is beautiful here, and I will post more pics as I settle in more.
Hope you all have a great day!!

Crochet texting mittens for my sister

I am one of those people who has been blessed... not with one, not with two, but with three sisters! One of my sisters requested mittens that can be used for texting so I took this pattern
http://www.crochetandknitting.com/mitglov2.htm
and only altered the thumbs so that there would be a slit to pull the thumbs out so they can be used for texting as well. :)
There is a shop I found on etsy that that sells this same glove (except the thumb opening) so if you love it and can't make it visit her shop. Her stitches look really pretty.

I am still in GA patiently waiting for the big move. Crocheting sure is a great way to relieve the stress of moving! If you have a great pattern or pictures of texting/fingerless gloves you have made share it by leaving me a comment :)

My fall fingernail design

The leaves are changing their color here in South Georgia and I wanted my manicure to have color changes too :)
This manicure is made by using these three colors: Finger Paints Artists Inspiration, Finger Paints Cordur Orange, and China Glaze Twenty-Four K . I started at the base of the nail with the gold color and used an eye shadow applicator to "sponge" it on. I followed with the light brown blending with the applicator and finished with the orange, again using the applicator to sponge the colors and blend them together at the edges. I then applied a top coat. Next, I used BM21 plate with Konad special polish in black.  Finally, I applied another top coat and the result is a pretty fall manicure :)

Feel free to ask any questions about this manicure, and let me know what you think.

Rustic wedding decor, a few pics of what I made

Here are a few pictures of the decorations I made for the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and my Kristen is now married!! I am so happy for her! She has had a fairytale courtship, engagement, and wedding. I will post more pictures of her rustic themed wedding as I get time.

I made 6 different rectangular saying that were placed int the center of swags made of twigs. They  were used in the chapel at the windows.

I also added a few of the same flowers that I used in the bouquets with the twigs.

This little chapel is located in the most adorable country place, so I added a few decorative items to the  entrance of the chapel... it actually is surrounded by a picket fence, how cute is that!!

This cake was so perfect!! I made the cake topper by drawing out a tree design and transferring it over to a wooden heart that I cut out, then.... I took out my handy wood burning tool again :)

Let me know what you think!!

2 Week Count Down to Wedding

Here we go!!!! Just two weeks from today and my adopted daughter is getting married!! Then two weeks later we move!!!! YIKES

I am really nervous about doing this BUT... I am putting my etsy shop in vacation mode!!! Starting on Nov. 2nd!! It will most likely be in vacation mode until the end of December so if you would like to make a purchase be sure to do it before Nov. 2nd.

I hope this will not effect my shop the way others have said it would... biting finger nails on this one :-/
I am so happy with the amount of orders I have had and have been blessed with wonderful customers :)

I am sill going to keep up with my blog, so be sure to keep following me :))

Here are a few more things I have made for the wedding... take a look...

I think I have mentioned that the wedding is a rustic country theme, for these cute mason jars I took out my handy wood burning tool to monogram these wooden hearts.... love it :)

I found a pretty inexpensive set of glass votive at Hobby Lobby and I just wrapped some burlap around them and tied a coordinating bow in the wedding colors to countrify  them a little :)
( I know, I know, that countrify is not a "real" word but it just fits so perfect here :)

Here is a set of 8 of them, I think they will be sooo pretty lit up!

Stay tuned for more pictures of decorations, I have been busy this week making some very rustic pew bows, with less bow and more twigs/wheat stems, and I like them too :)

I am hooked on nail art! My newest design...

My daughter and I took a little trip to the local Rite Aid last week and whooohoooo we found a LOAD of nail polishes 50% off or more!! I found the coolest black glitter polish along with other fun colors! We had a great time playing with all of the colors and this was one of the designs I came up with, let me know what you think :)

I finally updated my etsy banner

When I first opened my etsy shop I made a very simple generic banner. I have always admired others banners and the way they used pictures of their merchandise in the banner.  I would wonder how they did it. Well, yesterday I decided to google how to make an etsy banner.... and I yipeeee I found out about gimp and read through detailed how to instructions!! I worked for several hours last night, made a few, deleted a few and learned a lot. This is the banner I ended up creating :) It may still be simple, but I am soooo excited that is has some pictures of my stamps in it!!

Two more to add to the custom stamp gallery!

Here are my latest custom orders... the first one pictured is of a horse I have for sale in my shop with a keep calm saying attached. This customer had a great idea! All of my horse friends are sure to like this one :) The second one is of an etsy shop logo and shop name... I love how it turned out, and so does the customer :) She was nice enough to mention me on her facebook and sent a few more customers my way. Too sweet :)

This is the image she sent

Some lace, some ribbon.... Ooh La La

Been a busy busy week! As I mentioned, we will be making our final military move in a few months. We have been working on getting our little ranch sold for the past month and a half and it looks like it is sold YIPPEEEEE!!! We had to vacate our place :(  and finding a place to stay for a few months with horses, dogs and kids should have been a huge challenge, but by the grace of God it was not!! A friend of ours has a large ranch house and she offered to rent us a room and board our horses!! That was a relief! Normally, I would have just went a head and moved to our new state early but because my adopted daughter is getting married in November, she needed us to stay (her and her future husband will be moving with us). So, we found a place to hang our hats for a few months, all was looking good. Then came the news that our movers would be showing up 5 days before we scheduled them, which only gave me one and a half days to get all of my stuff organized!! And of course... my military man was in the middle of a base exercise and there was no way he could get off, so the kids and I were on our own. I ran a round like a crazy woman, throwing things in boxes that I thought we might need for the next 2 to 3 months. I packed my little car and ran back and forth dumping my stuff off in the room . I think the past few days had been the most stressful few days I ever had in my life!! Before I knew it, there were men trudging through my home again, packing up all of our belongings that will be going into storage until we find a home in our next state.         So, now it's all over, I am sitting here in my rented room, watching my kids play the Wee (they are loving that there is a Wee here :). I am still feeling a little displaced and frazzled but I know that too will pass in time. I have a little place set up to carve my stamps, which I have been working on.... I have a HUGE order, yippeeee :)

In the mist of all of this moving chaos, my adopted daughter had a lingerie bridal shower Thursday night. What fun!! She thought she would die of embarrassment :)))
One of the things I gave her are the garters that she will be wearing on her wedding day. Of course, hand made is always best :)  and thank the Lord I made these garters a few weeks ago, phew am I glad I did not procrastinate :)

I was totally hooked on this lace the  minute I saw it!! Isn't it pretty!!

Found some beautiful ribbon...

I ironed the ribbon in half, got it all pinned in place and went on to sewing

This is the one she will keep... it has the special lace that I fell in love with

This is the throw a way garter, I made it a little different. I changed the lace, the bow and the charm

I wanted to present her gifts to her in something special

I found this adorable little suitcase in just the right colors and Ooh la la appeal :)

Under the first layer are the garters, under the second layer is the ooh la la :) I will just keep that one private :)

I made this cute little traveling tag using one of my stamps that is for sale in my shop. I actually made this stamp design a few months back just for this reason
I love the way it all came together :)

How cute is this cake!!! And yummmmy it was good :)
