Weekend nail art

For me and my life  here on the ranch a weekend out is exciting!! I actually went out to eat on two nights in a row!!! YEA :))) I had a great time! Friday night was spent with a few girlfriends, they are helping me with my adopted daughters wedding. We went over decorating ideas and shopped and then went to eat. It was great! Then Saturday night we went out to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had a great time... my mind reeled back to last year at the same time...we celebrated his birthday with heavy hearts. He left to Afghanistan just 2 days later... actually today is the one year mark. He was deployed for over 6 months :( It was a long 6 months for our family but with the strength of the Lord Jesus and His many blessings we made it through! After having been through a long military separation through the holidays with children I really feel like I need to start some kind of something for children of deployed family members. It can be a very lonely time for children and spouses. My husband told me of all of the packages they were so thankful to receive, our citizens really took care of them with all of the support. But it dawned on me last night that the families left behind can sometimes be forgotten about. Rarely to they get thank you cards and words of support that are so desperately needed. I wish I could do something this year, but as we ourselves are gearing up for our final military move in December, I will not be able.... but hopefully next year I can :) !! I will keep you all posted on that.

Now, back to my weekend nails! I had to do something cute for my weekend out :) I stamped my nails and this is how they turned out....

Honey and a Hook, not a sticky mess

So... in my quest to use natural cleaners on my face I came across a website/blog called "Crunchy Betty."
The curator of the site had this challenge to wash your face with honey for a few weeks. I secretly took the challenge. I am on week 3 and my face is looking and feeling great! I even ran into someone I have not seen in a while and was told I look "fresh." My husband thought that was quite funny... and asked if I mentioned the honey.... no but I was tempted :) My skin has been a problem for me for a long long time. I have used retin A for years and really wanted to get off of it but every time I tried I would break out all over again. This time, my face is doing great, yea I have had a few break outs but nothing like normal. So I am pressing on, retin A free.
Honey and me, a new relationship is forming. I needed a special way to wash my face with the beautiful sticky stuff. So, I broke out the hooks and came up with some great washcloths! The lumpy bumpy cloth ended up being the best, I no longer use it for my face but for the body in the shower. It actually messages as it cleans! It is wonderful! The other two work great on my face.

If you want to know more about the challenge check out the site here:

If you take the challenge, let me know how it works for you... just curious :)

A few new custom hand carved rubber stamps, take a look :)

I am LOVING carving these custom orders!! They are sooo much fun to do. The first picture is of a design I already had in my shop but with a name added to the bottom.

These next few pictures are of a stamp that  is for a fellow letterboxer; this will be their signature stamp. I was sent a drawing of the design and made a stamp from that drawing... I had a lot of fun carving this stamp! The first pic is the drawing

Ya'all know I love comments :)

Here it is!!! This custom order hand carved rubber stamp turned out GREAT!!!

I am sooooo excited to share this with you all!! This is custom order was so much fun to carve! A sweet lady is getting married and wanted a personalized and very unique stamp to make her wedding invitations.
She wanted a tree with a heart and their initials in the trunk... AND.... a silhouette of a girl on a swing on one side and a silhouette of a boy abseiling on the other. Abseiling ??? Not sure what that was but she was kind enough to send me a picture of her fiance on the job.

WOW how cool is that!!

So, I actually used this exact picture as the model for the stamp! Here it is!!!!

She also wanted a cluster of flowers for under the tree.

She also wanted a smaller tree stamp. I had a little fun with this one and used embossing powder just to see how it would look, and I loved it! For the white tree I stamped the image in white ink and then embossed with a clear embossing powder... looks like a pretty winter/icy tree :)

If you have stopped by leave me a comment, I would love to hear what you think :)
