Flower Power Card Swap

Flower Power theme, a heart, and any sentiment...those were the requirements for this swap. I am not the best at coming up with a card layout, I guess it is because I do not have that much experience with it. I looked around the web for ideas and got overwhelmed :/  I decided to just go for it, and this is what I came up with.  I like the cards... had to make 9... but I am not wowed by them. I think I am unhappy with the blue lettering, it just kind of clashes with the other colors to me.  I don't know... what do you think??

My Crochet Scarf Super Easy Pattern

Hi All. As it turns out I do have a little more time to crochet now that I closed my Etsy shop. And the cool thing is that I now live in a cold enough place to wear crocheted items! South GA just did not have many days that required ear warming head bands and scarfs, lol!

This is how I made this simple but pretty scarf.
I wish I could tell you exactly what yarn I used but I lost the little sleeve that goes around the yarn. I do remember that it is a wool blend, like just 20% wool. And it is a size 5 yarn, so a bulky. But, you could easily hold 2 strands of worsted weight yarn together and get something pretty close. I have done that before myself :) And I used a  size J hook.

Start by making a chain of 24 and turn
Row 1: In the 6th chain from hook *make 4 double crochets, chain 2, 1 double crochet* (all in the 6th chain). Skip next 6 chains and repeat from *to* , skip another 6 chains and repeat from * to * you should now have 4 chains left, skip 3 chains and double crochet in the last chain. Turn

Row 2: Chain 2. Skip 2 double crochets. In the chain 2 space repeat * to * in row 1. Skip next 5 double crochets, in the chain 2 space repeat *to*. Repeat this step one last time. End with double crochet in turning chain. Turn

Repeat row 2 until desired length.

See.... told you it was easy! ;-)

The adorable little head band/ear warmer that you see me wearing in the picture came from this pattern... http://pardonmychaos-amanda.blogspot.com/2011/11/back-at-it.html
I really liked this pattern, it worked up fast and is super cute! I just added a flower for a little girly appeal :)

Valentine's, I Love Pink!!

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. I love little hearts and conversation candy. I love pink! This Valentine's I gave my fingers a little pink too :) I used a Konad plate for the lacy design and then just hand drew the hearts. It was really easy to do and I like the results... the only thing that would have made it perfect is if I could get the polish to smell like conversation hearts! How cool would that be?
