snow flakes outside, on my hand warmers, and on my nails

As I am writing this post I think our high outside is like 6 degrees.... brrrrrrr! We are having a few snow flurries as well but not just outside, they have manages to make it onto my nails and my hand warmers too!
Snow flakes are very pretty so I decided to add a few onto my crochet in the form of these adorable buttons I found. Then, I used the nail stamps from Bundle Monster to create matching nails.... how fun is that!

For the fingerless mitts, I used a ridged pattern I created. Here again, if I can find the notes for the pattern I may make it available in the future

Crochet Jewelry Challenge Project # 6

Ok, so this is not quite jewelry I guess but I did pin it on my pinetrest board that got this whole jewelry thing started. But wow... I am having so  much fun creating things I love and will use!

So this time I made the barefoot sandals.  They became popular a few summers ago and I liked them from the start. But... who actually wears these, I mean I can't go around barefoot all the time. Then I saw it, a picture with the barefoot sandals worn with shoes, Wow! They look super cute with flip flops and even closed toe shoes :) So now I could actually see a use for them but I was not even motivated to make them UNTIL the challenge. Boy am I glad I made them :) I love the way they look so much that I even made 2 and the third is in progress.

This is the first pair I made

Don't they look great with flip flops!!

Wanted to try something a little different for the second pair.... I am not as crazy about them as the first pair but I do like them and they look great with my black flip flops

this is my patriotic pedicure in celebration of the upcoming 4th of July :)

A cute nail art design

I did this cute little design on an adorable young lady that was visiting with us.
I used a Bundle Monster image plate and drew the red line with a polish pen.

Colored eggs on my finger nails!

I really didn't think I would hand paint another design on my nails for quite a while. I thought it was going to be Konad stamping  for a few weeks at least. But I could not resist! I saw this cute and simple colored egg design on this artists website http://robinmosesnailart.blogspot.com/ of course I did modify it a bit by only painting the eggs and not the bunny and basket, just to make it easier. I did not want to spent 2 hours painting this time :)

I am sure I will have to redo my nails before Easter... if you have any ideas for my next spring manicure post a link and I may give it a try and post the results :)

Hand painted manicure, fellow blogger inspired

I am totally in awe over this artist, she does the most amazingly cute designs on nails! She has been doing this 31 day nail art challenge and has hand painted some of the cutest designs on her nails including Alvin and the Chipmunks, http://polishartaddiction.blogspot.com/2012/02/31-day-challenge-day-1-red.html
Care bears http://polishartaddiction.blogspot.com/2012/03/31-day-challenge-day-9-rainbow.html,  101 Dalmatians, http://polishartaddiction.blogspot.com/2012/03/31-day-challenge-day-13-animal-print.html  and my favorite... Flower from Bambi! http://polishartaddiction.blogspot.com/2012/03/31-day-challenge-day-14-flowers.html

Leslie is so generous to actually give picture tutorials on how she paints her nails. So, I gave her flowers a try... there was no way I was going to try Flower himself :)

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out; (don't look too close at the right hand :) though not nearly at pretty as Leslie's :)

Spring Green Manicure

I guess I might be jumping the gun a little bit, I hear that March/April are the months that Colorado gets the most snow. But... I am ready for spring and I painted my nails like spring is on the way :) I am ready for some green grass and pretty spring flowers... aren't you??

I do like the way this manicure turned out, and I absolutely love this pretty green color made by China Glaze!!

Valentine's, I Love Pink!!

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. I love little hearts and conversation candy. I love pink! This Valentine's I gave my fingers a little pink too :) I used a Konad plate for the lacy design and then just hand drew the hearts. It was really easy to do and I like the results... the only thing that would have made it perfect is if I could get the polish to smell like conversation hearts! How cool would that be?

My fall fingernail design

The leaves are changing their color here in South Georgia and I wanted my manicure to have color changes too :)
This manicure is made by using these three colors: Finger Paints Artists Inspiration, Finger Paints Cordur Orange, and China Glaze Twenty-Four K . I started at the base of the nail with the gold color and used an eye shadow applicator to "sponge" it on. I followed with the light brown blending with the applicator and finished with the orange, again using the applicator to sponge the colors and blend them together at the edges. I then applied a top coat. Next, I used BM21 plate with Konad special polish in black.  Finally, I applied another top coat and the result is a pretty fall manicure :)

Feel free to ask any questions about this manicure, and let me know what you think.

I am hooked on nail art! My newest design...

My daughter and I took a little trip to the local Rite Aid last week and whooohoooo we found a LOAD of nail polishes 50% off or more!! I found the coolest black glitter polish along with other fun colors! We had a great time playing with all of the colors and this was one of the designs I came up with, let me know what you think :)

Weekend nail art

For me and my life  here on the ranch a weekend out is exciting!! I actually went out to eat on two nights in a row!!! YEA :))) I had a great time! Friday night was spent with a few girlfriends, they are helping me with my adopted daughters wedding. We went over decorating ideas and shopped and then went to eat. It was great! Then Saturday night we went out to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had a great time... my mind reeled back to last year at the same time...we celebrated his birthday with heavy hearts. He left to Afghanistan just 2 days later... actually today is the one year mark. He was deployed for over 6 months :( It was a long 6 months for our family but with the strength of the Lord Jesus and His many blessings we made it through! After having been through a long military separation through the holidays with children I really feel like I need to start some kind of something for children of deployed family members. It can be a very lonely time for children and spouses. My husband told me of all of the packages they were so thankful to receive, our citizens really took care of them with all of the support. But it dawned on me last night that the families left behind can sometimes be forgotten about. Rarely to they get thank you cards and words of support that are so desperately needed. I wish I could do something this year, but as we ourselves are gearing up for our final military move in December, I will not be able.... but hopefully next year I can :) !! I will keep you all posted on that.

Now, back to my weekend nails! I had to do something cute for my weekend out :) I stamped my nails and this is how they turned out....

Nail Art... I am hooked here too!!

A few months back I discovered these nail art plates that allow you to transfer images onto your nails... kind of like rubber stamps!! My daughter and I have had so much fun with these!! This is the latest design I painted on my nails, I am totally hooked on Konad nail art!!
I normally keep my toes painted but skip the hands because I can never keep the polish on for more than a day, but because I had a date with a very handsome military man I decided to go a head and paint my fingers too... let me know what you think.

Here is a link to Konad, check out the nail gallery and see all you can do with these cool stamps!http://www.konadnailart.com/

I also found this really neat blog, this young lady has some great ideas on how to use Konad

By the way... my date went great :-)  My husband even noticed my nails and said they were cute :-)
