This is Rex, and his new crochet blanket!

Let me introduce you to Rex.  Rex was my son's 7th birthday present 5 years ago but now "belongs" to my daughter. My son got tired of feeding Rex after about a year and sold him to my daughter for $20!! LOL My daughter and Rex are great buddies; he runs right along side her while she is riding her horse and will follow her anywhere. One day my daughter was going for a swim with her horse in a pond (which I just love to watch) and Rex would not leave her side. He was completely exhausted but continued to follow her into the pond. I watched in disbelief as his head starting going under, he was so fatigued but he would not get out of the pond unless my daughter was out. I have never seen such a loyal dog. Needless to say, my daughter did leave the pond and loyal Rex got lots of love from her, as he does every day.

I thought Rex needed a really nice cover for the new dog bed we got him a few weeks back. Of course, it needed to be crocheted :)

Just in case you are wondering, Rex is a mixed breed dog. His mom was German Shepherd  and there is no telling what dad was :)

A little lace to my rustic western table

A few years ago I took a common dining table and transformed it to something that fit our family. I took a wood burning tool, a chain, a drill, some stain and iron cowboy boots and went to work. I made over my table into a western, rust, don't care if my kids spill or bang on it because it just adds character kind of table. I have really loved it.

 I have decided to crochet a table runner; I want something that will add a special touch for those nights we have company or a special family dinner.   I searched all over the net for just the right pattern. I wanted it pretty with an old western feel, lacy but not Victorian looking and would go nicely with the rustic decor of my home. I found this pattern

This just may take a verrrrry long time to complete... I have already made another quick project while working on this one :) I will definitely post pictures of the finished table runner... just don't hold your breath ;-)

This little guy is soooo adorable!!

For a couple of months now my family has been volunteering at an animal sanctuary. There is the absolute cutest little creature there known as a baby alpaca! We had never had the opportunity before to see a baby alpaca... and wow is he adorable!! My husband now thinks baby alpacas are the cutest babies in the animal kingdom :)
I thought I would share these pictures today just because they make me smile, I hope they make you smile too :)

Back in Business

I just took my shop off of vacation mode!!

Wow, what a transition!! The traveling went great! Only had a few minor vehicle issues on the way, ran into a bit of bad icy weather, but here I am, all safe and warm and practically settled in. The horses did great during this dramatic change... I was a bit concerned, but they have adjusted with no issues!! YIPEE!!

It really is beautiful here, and I will post more pics as I settle in more.

Rustic wedding decor, a few pics of what I made

Here are a few pictures of the decorations I made for the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and my Kristen is now married!! I am so happy for her! She has had a fairytale courtship, engagement, and wedding. I will post more pictures of her rustic themed wedding as I get time.

I made 6 different rectangular saying that were placed int the center of swags made of twigs. They  were used in the chapel at the windows.

I also added a few of the same flowers that I used in the bouquets with the twigs.

This little chapel is located in the most adorable country place, so I added a few decorative items to the  entrance of the chapel... it actually is surrounded by a picket fence, how cute is that!!

This cake was so perfect!! I made the cake topper by drawing out a tree design and transferring it over to a wooden heart that I cut out, then.... I took out my handy wood burning tool again :)

Finally Posted Some New Hand Carved Rubber Stamps!!

Been trying for over a week now to get these new stamp designs listed but with summer duties calling, you know, those pool side days and running here and there with the kids I just have not had the chance.
But  today it is raining here in South GA and I am on a rainy day schedule!! :-)) The day trip to the beach has been cancelled and I am sitting on my bed posting my stamps and listening to the relaxing sound of rain hitting the sky light, it really is a nice sound. Occasionally I hear the singing of tree frogs calling out to one another, in fact, my son found the cutest frog this morning sitting in a puddle on the trash bin, I mean he is CUTE!! Posted a pic of the baby frog as well :-)

Oh chickens chickens how I love you,
not only do you spread the horse poo,
but you give me two eggs every day,
